Neman – Dinamo Brest: preview

We have the forecast for the encounter between Neman and Dinamo Brest in the context of the 26th round of the 2026 Belarusian league. The important "western derby" has competitive value for both clubs, who do not lose hope of staying in the fight for the "bronze".

Key points

Neman

1. "Neman" lost for the first time since early August

In the last round, Neman's streak of eight matches without defeat was broken, seven of which were victories. The Grodno side performed quite well at home against the league leader ML Vitebsk, and although they were down, they had several excellent moments to level, but ultimately 0:1. Iñigo Kovalec received a red card for emotions over the referee's decisions and was suspended for several matches, but Neman usually does not play without its main coach. The advantage was lost: the gap with third place Isloch increased to six points.

2. Less Pantia, more Zimo and Lisakovich – and all without injuries

The main left back of Neman, Yuri Pantia, will not play due to suspension. Shereif Zimo will replace him, who missed the last match due to accumulated yellow cards, and the centre-back line will again feature the combination of Andrey Vasilyev and Ivan Sadovnichy. According to the loan contract with ML Vitebsk, one of Neman's leaders – midfielder Ruslan Lisakovich – did not play and will return to the core, adding more acidity to the attack. Among Neman's injured players, only goalkeeper Kirill Veidyger is listed; his substitute Nikita Matysuk played without scoring in five of the ten current league matches, conceding only six goals.

3. Lately "Neman" rarely wins against "Dinamo"

The three points Neman earned in the first cycle were the Grodno side's first victory in the last four direct confrontations. At home, Neman has a slight advantage: four of the six official matches in Grodno since 2020 ended with defeats for the Bresters. However, the last two visits of Dinamo to Neman's stadium produced victories for the visitors, including a friendly that was recently played during the international break, where the squads seemed quite representative.

Dinamo Brest

1. "Dinamo" ended a streak of four consecutive wins

The Bresters' chances of winning the bronze medal decreased when Alexander Sednev's team, in a balanced and quite spectacular game, lost points to Gomel. The goal exchange on their own ground ended 2:2. Previously, Dinamo had achieved four consecutive wins, leaving the lower half of the league table, BATE, Dnipro and Arsenal, and also one of the league leaders – Dinamo Minsk.

2. All extreme defenders are available again, but two losses in central defence

Egor Khralenkov missed four matches due to injury, but upon returning to the squad, the Brest right back remained on the bench, as his direct positional competitor Roman Yuzepchuk scored two goals and provided two assists in the last four matches. On the left flank, where Khralenkov could also have played, Guillermo Gudes returned to the core after three months of recovery from a muscle injury. Unfortunately, Neman has two significant losses in central defence: Alexander Pavlovets, who ruptured cruciate ligaments at the end of August, and Alexei Lavrik, called to military training for the second time this season.

3. "Dinamo" regularly scores at home

In the current season of the top league, Dinamo lost only two away matches, the last in May. Since then, in six league matches, Sednev's team achieved five wins and a draw, although in each of the last four away matches they scored only one goal, but the defence played very well, conceding only once. The Bresters have not left the field without a goal in 11 consecutive away matches in all competitions – the streak began in early May.

Forecast

Neman vs Dinamo Brest 25.10.2026 16:30

Before the decisive stretch of the season, where both participants of the western derby still have the opportunity to occupy third place, the rivals are in excellent form, but lost important points in the last round. Neman, after the defeat against the league leader ML Vitebsk, broke an eight-match streak, seven of which were victories, while Dinamo could not achieve a fifth consecutive win, sharing points with Gomel.

Neman won the last four home matches, conceding only one goal, but Dinamo regularly scores away and has not lost an away match since May. In the last two encounters at Neman's stadium, one of which was recently a friendly, the Bresters won two matches by a one-goal margin. However, we assume that this time Neman, rattled by the emotional defeat in the last round, will make Dinamo strive and the game between two worthy rivals will not reveal a winner.

Forecast: 1-1
