Milan – Ferencváros: Preview
We present the predictions for the Milan vs Ferencváros match in the fourth round of the 2026/27 Europa League Group Stage.
"Milan" stunned with a victory over "Inter", and now they cannot afford to relax in the upcoming encounter against the bold "Ferencváros".
Key points
1. "Milan" delighted fans with the derby win
Recently, "Milan" suffered painful defeats against "Bournemouth" (0:3) and "Bologna" (2:4), so Ruben Amorim’s side urgently needed positive emotions. They found them with a home win over "Inter" – 3:1. Amorim’s plan and "Inter"’s weak play were the keys to success and perhaps the future progress of the "red‑black".
In the Europa League, "Milan" still has a lot to do: after the win over "Salzburg" (4:0), they followed with the aforementioned loss to "Bournemouth" and the home defeat to "Benfica" (0:2). The victory will improve their position in the EL table, and by the end of 2026 "Milan" will have an away match against "Olympiacos" and a home fixture with "Sunderland" at San Siro.
2. Amorim will make changes in every line
Mike Mnyan was sent off in the match against "Bournemouth", so he will miss the game against "Ferencváros" due to suspension. In his absence, the emerging reserve star Lorenzo Torrini will have his moment. These are not the only changes before the match against the Hungarians: Srčin Pavlovic will rest in defense, Adnan Yazari will play in midfield instead of Luka Modrić, and Cristian Komotto is a possible substitute for Adrian Rabo. Omari Hattinson and Alfadjo Sisse will start as forwards in the 4‑3‑2‑1 formation, and Francesco Camarda aims for the striker role.
3. "Milan" must avoid underestimating the opponent
The win over "Inter" in front of their fans surely gave "Milan" players confidence. The important thing is that this confidence does not turn into arrogance. The "red‑black" are not that reliable defensively even at San Siro: in six matches across all competitions, the team has conceded nine goals. So far, "Milan" has managed to resolve things with goals scored. But the only home match without goals was against "Benfica" in the Europa League. Is it time to close this story?
1. "Ferencváros" started strong in the Europa League
"Ferencváros"’ problems lie in the Hungarian league: too many points are lost in draws, the team sits third in the table. But in the EL, after three rounds, "Ferencváros" advances without a loss. Nine points were earned with victories over "Celtic" (3:1), "Viktoria" (2:1) and "Torres" (4:1). One could say the list of opponents is not impressive, but "Celtic" is the Scottish league leader, "Viktoria" is one of the top Czech clubs (going through tough times), and "Torres" is a sensation in the Portuguese Cup.
2. "Ferencváros" faces a goalkeeper dilemma
Denesh Dibus is the starting goalkeeper, but there is also rotation with Adam Varga and the very young Daniel Radnuti. The twenty‑year‑old goalkeeper had already played in the EL with "Fradi" and contributed two victories to the team. Radnuti was injured, leaving only two. Varga has experience in European club matches this season. With him, "Ferencváros" faced "Celtic", so this option is viable. Although Dibus will enjoy playing at San Siro. As for the rest of the squad, the roster will be very similar to the usual: the core will consist of Mariano Gómez, Kristoffer Zakariassen, Kadu Cruz, Isa Yusuf and Toon Remakers.
3. "Ferencváros" plays well at home, but top‑5 opponents appear infrequently
"Ferencváros" knows how to play boldly in away matches. This is demonstrated by eight wins, three draws and four losses in the last 15 matches across various stages of European clubs. Difficult trips to Turkey, Scotland and the Netherlands are in their history. But when it comes to matches against top‑5 teams, problems arose – sometimes very serious: defeats against "Nottingham Forest" (0:4), "Eintracht" (0:2), "Bayern" (0:2, 1:2) and "Betis" (0:2). However, during that period "Fradi" recorded an active win against "Monaco" (1:0) and a draw in Florence with "Fiorentina" (2:2). We are sure that the visitors want to ruin "Milan"’s mood, but to achieve it they will have to surpass their own level.

Prediction
Milan vs Ferencváros 05.11.2026 21:45
"Milan" has raised its fighting spirit with the derby win over "Inter". Ruben Amorim’s team has suffered many losses since the start of the season, including recent matches with "Bournemouth" and "Bologna". In the Europa League, "Milan" has only one win in three matches – this is clearly not enough, so the encounter with "Ferencváros" should not be dismissed. And more, the rival should not be underestimated with their still very imperfect defensive play. "Ferencváros" was a participant in last year’s 1/8 phase of the Europa League. In the current competition, "Fradi" started in the general phase perfectly, beating "Celtic", "Viktoria" and "Torres". The Hungarians are very confident and want to create a sensation in Milan, where they have never played in history. They can rattle the nerves of the "red‑black", but if "Milan" plays at the right level, there will be no sensation. Prediction: 2-1
