Lecco – Juventus: preview

We have the predictions for the match between Lecco and Juventus in the eighth round of Serie A 2026/27.

In the last two seasons, Juventus has faced Lecco twice, drawing 1:1 in both meetings. Will it be another draw?

Key points

Lecco

1. Lecco has an excellent start according to its own standards

The task for Lecco remains the same each season: to stay in Serie A. Last year was quite tense: with poor performance, the team finished 17th, i.e. the last spot before the relegation zone. The start of the new season is very good. There are no intermediate tones: either a defeat with no chance of a comeback, or a solid win. The direct rivals have already faced Véneto (2:0) and Monza (3:2), and in the last round Lecco away beat Udine 3:0. In total, there are nine points and a mid-table position. And if they suddenly win at home against Juventus, after eight rounds, Lecco will be above in the table.

2. By the end of October, Lecco lost three key midfielders

Earlier, due to injuries, Medon Berisha and Ivan Ilich, two key midfielders for Eusebio Di Francesco’s build‑up, left the squad. A week ago, against Udine, Lassan Kulibali suffered a nasty muscle injury. Some of the upcoming matches will have to be missed. In their place, the Frenchman Mohamed Kaba is predicted for the starting XI. It must be understood that Lecco has no substitutes to replace the leaders without problems. The midfield line will definitely fall to the reserves.

3. Lecco is on par with Juventus in goals

Recall that this is the team that last year scored fewer than 30 goals in 38 matches. Here we can assess Lecco’s progress and the depth of Juventus’s decline. And there are still “critical points”. Lecco scored eight of its nine goals on winning days. When the team is good, it does it to the maximum. However, on losing days everything is lamentable. In the domestic cup, Lecco lost five times, only responded in the match against Bologna (1:2). Therefore, against Juventus it cannot be taken for granted as the first.

Juventus

1. Juventus still has not won. Is it time to look at Antonio Conte?

One of the best Italian coaches, after leaving Napoli, is on a break. Very soon, that creative pause will end if certain Serie A giants remain stagnant. One of them is Juventus. After a break with the national team, in four matches only one win, and last week in the Champions League at home they did not beat Rennes (2:2).

Spalletti is not in full control. He still carries the shadow of the spring failure that left Juventus without the Champions League. Practically, in a year in Turin, the situation did not improve dramatically, although at times the coach showed quality. But now, Juventus suffers more, and its lag behind the Serie A leaders has increased to a threatening eight points.

2. The experiment with two towers in attack continues

Spalletti, in desperation, puts Randall Kolomanni and Nik Volemdade in the starting lineup. With Rennes, the desired effect was not achieved, although the German striker scored from a penalty. Against Lecco, the coach will probably repeat the tactic. Kenan Yildiz is still recovering, Francesco Conesa is more busy fighting against Spalletti than playing.

It is unlikely that defender Zeki Chelek and midfielder Nicolás González will play against Lecco. All will rest again at the universal Weston McKenney. Of the options, only Edon Jegrovah, the midfielder, did not declare for the Champions League. Another question: in a year and a half in Turin, he has scored two goals.

3. In October, Juventus had not a single match without goals in defense

Cagliari, Celta, Lazio and Rennes – in total, the Turin side conceded seven goals. In three of four matches, Juventus let the first goal through and fought desperately to come back. With Cagliari, a goal on the island was enough for a draw, and against Celta in Vigo, Randall Kolomanni scored the decisive goal only in minute 90+2, i.e. everything was close to a draw. And, by the way, that game remains the only win in that series.

And Lecco is not such a simple rival. The overall balance of Juventus’s victories is impressive, but in the last two seasons the zebras drew 1:1.

Forecast

Lecco vs Juventus 25.10.2026 20:00

Juventus plays against Lecco. On a normal night, there would be no doubt about the favorite and the result. But now, Juventus surprises more and more with an unpleasant side. After the break with the national team, they did not beat Cagliari and Rennes, and against Lazio last week it was a disaster at home 0:3. Who guarantees now that at home against Lecco everything will be calm? And the last story seems to hint – the Turin side drew 1:1 twice in the last two years. On a good day, Eusebio Di Francesco’s team not only wins, but scores two goals. But on bad nights, everything turns into a monotonous traffic street. That is, Lecco depends largely on the first goal. And here there is a nuance, because in three of four games after the break, Juventus let the first goal through. And yet, we believe in the Turin side. Through sweat, blood and tears, they will get the three important points.

Prediction: 0-1
