LASK – Slovan Bratislava: Preview
We describe the lineups for the LASK and Slovan Bratislava match in the fourth round of the 2026/27 Champions League group stage. LASK has won once in three matches and entered the top‑24 with three points. "Slovan" is in last place in the table and has no points.

Key Points
LASK
1. LASK in excellent form – four wins in five matches
The Austrian club showed its character and ambitions already in the Champions League qualifiers in August, when after being beaten by "Seltz" 3‑0 they won again with a 4‑0 advantage. Since then, LASK has displayed a powerful and brilliant offensive game, although it has not always produced the expected results. The start of the group stage was not favourable – defeats against AEK (0:1) and Liverpool (3:6) sank them. But the team recovered: four wins in the last five matches, including a 3:2 victory over Sporting Lisbon, allowing them to keep fighting for the playoffs.

2. Few defeats, but players lack freshness
Currently the situation is quite complicated for the owners in each tournament they participate in. In the league, the leaders pulled ahead, and the coach struggles to rotate the squad in a demanding calendar – he needs his best players in every match. The only positive point is the absence of major defeats – among the starters in the main rotation only the injured full‑back George Bello is missing. The American was injured in early October and has not yet fully recovered. Overall, no surprises are expected.

3. The "Blacks and Whites" are very effective on their own ground
It had already been noted that LASK plays brilliant offensive football, which practically guarantees a spectacle in every match. At home, as usual, the pressure of the hosts is higher and the boldness too. In nine home matches across all competitions, on average, the "Blacks and Whites" score almost three goals per game. And in the Champions League they are also not intimidated by formidable opponents – "Seltz" received five goals (5:1), and Liverpool three, although they did not win. Now, for the first time, they will face a rival of a completely different level – pressure is necessary.

Slovan Bratislava
1. "Slovan" is only good at home
Even that statement can be questioned. In the current season, Yaya Touré’s team had a poor start, allowing one of the competitors to pull ahead with a huge points gap in the league. Therefore, the current unbeaten run, which includes two wins and a draw in three matches, can hardly surprise anyone. Especially in the Champions League, where the Slovaks achieve nothing – three defeats in three rounds and no clear prospects. One can talk about the level of the opponents, which is fair, but they have also not shown a serious fight as guests.

2. The guests also have no rotation options
Regarding personnel, "Slovan" differs little from the rival, although their resources are clearly smaller. Still, the visitors not only have to deal with a demanding calendar but also with surprising training decisions. Yaya Touré’s rotation is always minimal, there is no clear distribution of load between tournaments, and changes are late – rarely does someone manage to play at least half an hour. There are few injuries, except that striker Nikolai Kukarovich is still recovering, but in the current situation it barely helps.

3. The "Sky Blues" do not pressure opponents in the Champions League
It is clear that "Slovan" will not achieve much this campaign – they are one of the three group‑stage teams with no points, and the worst in other indicators. Still, they surprise not so much with results as with a lack of fighting ideas. Especially in attack – in the first round, "Slovan" scored an own goal against PSG when they were 0:5, and then did not score at all (1:6). The scenarios differ: against "Stuttgart" at home, they scored a lot but always lacked precision (0:3); against "Roma", they did not score, barely reached the goal (0:4). In no match did the "Sky Blues" manage to score; the favourites did not tremble. And now it will not be much easier.

Prediction
LASK vs Slovan Bratislava
04.11.2026 00:00
A battle between teams that do not compete for top positions in the main club tournament, but also cannot be considered equal. LASK, despite a difficult calendar, has overcome difficulties and already presented the first surprise – the win over Sporting allowed them to enter the transition match zone. The Austrian club continues to show brilliant offensive play and comes into this encounter in good form with four wins in five matches. "Slovan" is in last place – both in the table and in play. The guests achieve nothing in the Champions League, although they also have problems in other competitions, the defence does not hold, the attack cannot impose its fight. Obviously, in this encounter there is no obvious class gap that would help the Slovaks avoid another defeat or even score. And yet, LASK seems much more secure, and at home they should win quite comfortably. Prediction: 3-1
