PSV – Bruges: Preview
We have the predictions for the match between PSV and Bruges in the fourth round of the Champions League group stage 2026/27.
In the fourth group round, Bruges will try to extend its successful away run in Eindhoven against the productive PSV.
Key Moments
PSV
1. PSV improved its league position and lifted its spirits before the Champions League match
PSV secured a crushing 7:0 win over Willem II over the weekend, with seven different players scoring. Their opponent, although sitting last in the Eredivisie, this result helped close the gap with leader Feyenoord to two points and added positive energy before the Champions League fixture. Until then, Peter Bosz’s side had not won two consecutive league games, losing to Den Haag (1:2) and drawing with Feyenoord (1:1). In the Champions League, PSV has four points from three rounds: a 1:1 draw with Shakhtar, a 0:1 loss to RB Leipzig, and a 1:0 win over Porto.
2. Pepi returns to the squad, Lamers and Vanner train but likely will not play
Ricardo Pepi finally returned to the squad after an injury that kept him out since late September; he came on as a substitute in the match against Willem II and scored, but his ability to play the full 90 minutes remains in doubt. Another striker, Sam Lamers, is dealing with fitness issues and has not yet rejoined the first team. Paul Vanner trains individually and is unlikely to be ready for Wednesday.
3. Even if Pepi doesn’t score, PSV’s attack becomes more dangerous
Pepi’s arrival gives Peter Bosz more attacking options; although the American forward’s personal stats are not impressive – four goals in nine games – his presence on the pitch allows pressure on the opposition defence and creates mistakes, making him useful even without scoring directly. The stats confirm: in five matches Pepi missed due to injury, PSV scored only five goals, whereas before his injury the Brusseleers netted 25 times in eight matches.
Bruges
1. Bruges fights for the Belgian title and looks very good in the Champions League
Bruges is in excellent form: over the weekend the Ivan Leekó side beat Zulte Waregem away 4:2, their ninth win in ten league rounds, putting them at the top of the table with 27 points, two points ahead of Gent. In the last five matches across all competitions, the Belgians won all five: against Lokeren-Temse (1:0), Inter (4:3), Lens (3:0), Sint-Truiden (3:2) and Zulte Waregem (4:2). Champions League results are especially impressive: after a 2:3 loss to Aston Villa, the Belgians beat Inter in Milan and dominated Lens. In total, six points from three rounds – two more than the current rival, PSV.
2. Leekó does not hold back players in the league match, the attacking leaders are in form
In the league match against Zulte Waregem, Ivan Leekó did not conserve energy and deployed the same lineup as in the previous match against Sint-Truiden. However, at the end of the game several players were substituted with the idea of playing against PSV. Bruges’ main offensive strength is the Forbs and Treloar duo: in the match against Zulte, Treloar scored his eighth goal in October alone, and Forbs, besides his goal, has four assists that month.
3. Bruges can beat top teams even at home
Bruges’ away performance allows points even in Eindhoven. Ivan Leekó’s side won the last four away matches consecutively, including the Champions League title in Milan against Inter (4:3). Moreover, the effectiveness is notable: in the last three away matches, the “blues and blacks” scored 12 goals – four in each (including 4:3 against Inter in the Champions League, also 4:1 against La Louvière and 4:2 against Zulte in the league).

Prediction
PSV vs Bruges 05.11.2026 00:00
After the crushing win over Willem II, PSV narrowed the gap with leader Feyenoord and regained confidence after two poor rounds. A key improvement is the return of Ricardo Pepi, who immediately stood out when coming on as a substitute in the last match, although his ability to play the full 90 minutes remains in doubt.
"Bruges" leads the national championship and won five consecutive matches in all competitions, and in the Champions League has already beaten Inter and Lens, adding six points. The Forbs – Treloar offensive duo is particularly dangerous: the latter scored eight goals in October alone. Additionally, "Bruges" won the last four away matches, scoring four goals in three of them.
PSV can take advantage of home advantage, but the visitors’ current form and their effectiveness away promise an open match with goals from both sides and likely a draw.
Prediction: 3-3
