Galatasaray – Stuttgart: Preview
We have the lineups for the Galatasaray and Stuttgart match as part of the fourth round of the 2026/27 Champions League group stage.
Key points
Galatasaray
1. "Galatasaray" remains on a winning streak
In the previous Champions League round, Okana Buruk’s side suffered a crushing defeat to "Barcelona", although they were leading (1:4). It was a bad fall, but "Galatasaray" recovered quickly and delivered a very positive boost: four consecutive wins in different competitions. These included the victory over the eternal rival "Fenerbahçe" (2:1) in the league, and the win over "Lille" in the CL (4:2). The latter is especially important after two defeats in the first two rounds of the tournament. Now the hosts are in the transition phase and still have good chances to keep fighting. But more is needed.
2. The owners have many options to rotate the squad
Currently "Galatasaray" is in good shape, not only on the pitch but also in the squad: there are no losses among the main rotation players. Of course, after the league match and with such a demanding schedule, another rotation from Okana Buruk is expected, but he has plenty of options. On the bench are always ready Lero Sane and Ilkay Gündogan, the central defender Abdulkerim Bardakci, rested after a suspension and full of energy. Victor Osmichen remains in good form, and Alexey Batrakov is already scoring even in the league. The combination will be optimal.
3. "The Lions" lost once at home since April
The only loss, which is significant, was the unpleasant defeat to "Barcelona" in the CL, when the team lacked an initial spark for something more. Now the rival remains on another level, close to the owners, and a very different effect can be expected. In general, with their own fans, the "Lions" have won six of eight matches in different competitions. In the Champions League, up to the last mistake, they had an unbeaten streak of three matches against top‑level teams. Clearly, "Galatasaray" will approach this game seriously.
Stuttgart
1. In the Champions League, "Stuttgart" remains unbeaten
It is not entirely true, as in the last round "Stuttgart" failed to beat "Atlético" at home (1:1), although the level of resistance was incomparable. Still, in the club’s main competition, the team is unbeaten, with seven comfortable points, and has all the chances to consolidate among the leaders. Meanwhile, "the Swabians" remain unstable in play and results, and the league situation is far from ideal. But lately things have improved: the visitors have two consecutive wins and only one loss in the last four matches.
2. There are enough losses, but the situation is not critical
The squad situation of "the Swabians" has been unstable in recent weeks. On one hand, the dressing room has emptied, most players have already returned to training, and coach Sebastián Hönes clearly has more options to rotate. On the other hand, there are still difficulties in each line. In defence Yoshi Wagman is missing, reducing options on the right flank, and in midfield the issue of Angelo Stiller, the German, who missed the last league tournament due to injury. The talented winger Leo Saura has also been absent for a while. The situation is not critical.
3. "The Swabians" score regularly in the Champions League
"Stuttgart" under Sebastián Hönes has become a guarantor of brilliant matches, the team always tries to play in its own way: it often works against the rival, but effectiveness is present. In the Champions League, last season, "the Swabians" returned after 14 years, but since then have shown offensive football and scored at least one goal. The exception is the only one in 11 matches in this stretch where they only resisted "Atalanta" (0:2). Moreover, that game was at home, while away, the visitors scored consistently. In the next encounter, "Stuttgart" is also expected to apply worthy pressure.

Prediction
Galatasaray vs Stuttgart
03.11.2026 21:45
One of the most interesting matches of the Champions League round. The teams are very far apart in the standings, but quite close in ability. Both arrive at the battle in good form, both prefer to play in their own way and bet on offensive football. "Stuttgart" continues to show variable play in the league and the CL, but on the European stage the team remains without obvious defeats and has consolidated among the leaders. On the other hand, it now has two consecutive wins and progress in play. "Galatasaray" also has a streak of four wins, but in the main competition only achieved its first recently. Now the owners are in the top‑24, but the situation is unstable and points are needed. In the home match against "the Swabians", any result except a win will be unpleasant. The game will be typically offensive, barely anyone will gain a clear advantage, but in the end the owners will win.
Prediction: 2-1
