Como – Venice: preview
We discuss the lineups for the Como and Venice match in the context of the tenth round of Serie A for the 2026/27 season. In the tenth round, the tireless "Como" will try to continue its goal-scoring streak against a "Venice" that, despite its outsider status, could take points away from them.
Key moments
Como
1. "Como" remains confident even with a very tight schedule
Como continues to advance with confidence in the season: Cesc Fabregas’ team won its last three Serie A matches consecutively – against Fiorentina (3:1), Sassuolo (2:0) and Torino (3:1) – and, after the victory over the Torinese, moved up to fourth place. The game in Turin proved quite difficult: Como had to recover, but the team managed to change the match and score twice at the end; Fabregas, after the match, praised the resilience and quality of his players, noting that it was the fourth meeting in ten days, and in such a dense schedule it is hard to maintain stable performance.
2. Much loss, but there is a chance of return for Liberali, Chaloba and Kina
Como faces serious problems in its offensive group. Assane Diao will return alone after the November break for international matches; Jaden Addi suffered a muscle injury in the game against Torino, which is especially unpleasant – the winger only returned recently after seven months of absence due to an Achilles tendon rupture, and now he is again unavailable. Mattia Liberali also has a muscle problem, but presumably less serious than Addi’s, and there is still a possibility that he will return soon. In addition, Jesús Rodríguez, who missed the previous match, as well as Trevo Chaloba and Moize Kina could be added to the squad for the match against Venice.
3. "Como" must take advantage of its good attacking form
In the second half of October, Como shows an impressive goal-scoring ability. In its last four matches it scored 12 goals (an average of 3 per game). In the last three Serie A encounters, Cesc Fabregas’ team scored eight goals, and the victory over Torino showed that the "lagos" can take the lead and change the game even after an unfavorable start. Against Venice’s defence, which has conceded 19 goals in nine rounds, Como’s offensive line must become the key factor for success. However, there is a risk factor: the match will be the fourth in a short period, and on 4 November, Como will have a Champions League match against Lens.
The tight schedule could influence the selection of the starting lineup and the intensity of the pressure. In addition, injuries to Diao, Addi, Liberali and Rodríguez reduce the chances of rotation on the flanks.
Venice
1. "Venice" shows signs of life, but cannot rise from the bottom row
After nine rounds, the team occupies the last place with only three points. The only championship win came against Napoli (1:0), after which they lost to Genoa (0:1) and Inter (0:2). However, the match against the Milanese was relatively successful in terms of quality of play – Venice made the league leader nervous, entered the danger zone and the visitors only lost two shots at the end, both of which were own goals.
2. Buzio and Bella-Cotchap and Buzio are ready to start in the lineup
Before the match against Como, Venice has good news: Gianluca Buzio has recovered from an injury and can return to the starting lineup, and John Yeboah can play alongside Aco Adams. He also returned to training and competes for the start in the first minutes, Armell Bella-Kocap. Thierry Korya, on the other hand, has had muscle problems, and his participation remains uncertain.
3. The history of direct encounters with "Como" should give confidence to the Venetians
One of Venice’s few hopes is to find inspiration in the history of direct encounters. The last games between the teams have been relatively good for the "lagunarios": in the last nine meetings they lost to Como only twice and both by a single goal (0:1 in 2022 and 1:2 in 2024). There were three wins and four draws in that period. In Como, however, Venice won only once in the last five meetings (2:1 in 2017).

Forecast
Como vs Venice 01.11.2026 15:30
"Como" continues to surprise with its results: Cesc Fabregas’ team won its last three Serie A matches, scoring eight goals, and moved up to fourth place. The tight schedule has not been too problematic, but it should not be forgotten that the next game will be the fourth in ten days, and on 4 November they will play at home against Lens in the Champions League. Venice remains in the last place, but in the match against Inter showed that it can resist even strong opponents. In addition, the history of direct encounters in recent times has favoured the Venetians: in the last nine meetings they only lost twice and achieved three wins. However, Como’s stable and goal-scoring form and Venice’s defensive problems almost leave the visitors with no hope of points in this match.
Forecast: 2-0
